I would take Panasonic AVCHD to be little better than that from my experience.

I prefer this SD7 over Xacti HD1000 for my pocket camera to cover my HVX200 and HPX555.

With SD lens, closeups are okay but with wide angle shot, CAC looks so much better.

What's the difference in AVCHD and regular H.264?

With the preset (sports?), maybe it will keep it at "higher" shutter speed.
