Re: Sigma 30mm F/1.4 depth of field
Yeah, definitely too many dip to white transitions, it's cool, every shoot is a learning experience, and I don't think anyone ever reaches perfection. There's always something that could have been...

Re: Critique my "love story" video =)
I totally get what you're saying, but I wouldn't say the lens couldn't perform this task. If anything it would outperform the zoom simply because the zoom doesn't have a constant aperture, and thus...

Re: Critique my "love story" video =)
Hey guys, thanks for the critiques =) I feel I should explain the situation. I made this video for myself, not for my sister or her husband. In fact, he didn't want to do it, and she's very camera...

Re: Sigma 30mm F/1.4 depth of field
Gerald, don't take this personally, but as someone said in the Canon XH series forum,
"By the way, the video community is starting to suffer from rack-focus-itis. Too many people are overusing...

Re: Critique my "love story" video =)
I use Adobe CS5 Production Premium. The diffused look is from Magic Bullet Looks, and it's called, "Green Pearl". I captured audio from a Sony UWP-V1 wireless lav and recorded onto a Zoom H4n. I...

Re: Critique my "love story" video =)
Thanks for watching, Jeff. I'm well aware of the rule of 3rds. I actually keep the 3rds grid on all the time on my GH2. I didn't strictly adhere in this case for two reasons. The first was I...

Critique my "love story" video =)
Hey, my sis and bro-in-law got married last year, and I filmed their wedding, but while they were down for the weekend I filmed this as one of those wedding "love story" videos. I only had so much...

ARRI lens broken...fixable?
Apparently dragging my ARRI case over the stairs was not a good idea as one of my 650W lenses broke. B&H charges $70. It's basically split in half. Is there a way I can glue/fuse them together,...

Re: How do you do this edit?
Rob, I know it's not a "transition" in Premiere, I meant, how do I transition between the two shots so seamlessly? It's as if he panned the camera and there was an identical couple sitting next to...

How do you do this edit?
Hey, this is probably a simple thing, but I'm wondering how the edit was done between the first two shots where it transitions from them on the ledge to below it. It's completely seamless. Thanks...

Re: Is the GH2 usable? Should I buy it?
Yeah, with the aperture wide open in broad daylight you have to increase the shutter to a large value to get proper exposure. The problem is as I scroll from the single digits to the quadruple...

Re: Is the GH2 usable? Should I buy it?
Another thing I've noticed is when taking pictures any shutter speed between 1500-4000 is not reflected in the lcd/vf. There's a slight change between 1500-2000, but pretty much in that high range...

Re: Is the GH2 usable? Should I buy it?
1.) Not just the VF but the LCD, as well. It's irritating that after you set everything when you hit record it all changes.
2.) That's by far my biggest complaint.

Re: Is the GH2 usable? Should I buy it?
I honestly don't think the GH2 is difficult to operate at all. Most of the functions you need are on the camera or just one menu level deep. It's easy to get smooth footage with my Merlin,...
