Re: dum-dum question about audio for wedding

Actually, the part about never blocking the video isn't really true, Chris -- for me, anyway. Last year, a guy asked me to run video from a camera locked down shooting up the aisle. On several...

maintaining focus on subject coming toward you

I don't think this really matters for which Nikon dSLR that you use. I'm back to shooting video on my D4 after being a wedding videographer for a few years about 10 years ago with a Canon XL1. ...

Re: dum-dum question about audio for wedding

Don, I'm surprised you don't then record the audio through the church's board. (not questioning what you do.) I like the idea of putting a mic on the pulpit.

Wow! Lots of responses/feedback -- Thanks! I really appreciate it. This weekend, I was planning on trying this out as a free upgrade to the clients just to see how it will work. I'd been doing...

dum-dum question about audio for wedding

Okay, so I want to do some fusion between my photography and video, but not sure I thought this through thoroughly. I used to be a wedding videographer, but now focus on wedding photography, and...

Re: Kevin + Rebecca | Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Travis, thanks for sharing! This is just... sick!

It's especially impressive given how you moved to an indoor location, and then back outdoors, 400 yards away, in some 10 minutes. Truly...

Re: Slow Motion in Premiere CS6

Thanks, guys, I used TimeWarp and it worked nicely in my current project.

Tim, interesting idea there for me. So you shoot at 60 fps. Do you create a sequence with settings at 24 fps, and then...

Re: Slow Motion in Premiere CS6

Okay, next question for anyone who might be on this thread. My 2nd shooter was using a Canon EOS C100 camcorder and so I pulled an image from it. He was shooting at 1920x1280 and for some reason, I...

Re: First post in a long time...

Stephen,

This was luscious, thanks for sharing! I've been out of the wedding video game for 10 years, just getting back into it now. Your slow motion was just absolutely excellent. Are you...

Re: Slow Motion in Premiere CS6

Thanks for the info, Battle. Not sure what I'll do yet. I'll go with what Pete suggested and shoot at the faster frame rate.

Pete, sorry... must've had PAL on my mind. We're shooting at 24fps. ...

Slow Motion in Premiere CS6

Look, I'm back, okay? In 2002-04, I was heavy into wedding videos, short films, music videos. Shot with a Canon XL-1 back then, switched from editing on Premiere to Final Cut Pro. Now I shoot with...

Re: Wedding at the Monterey Plaza | Feature Film

Sigmund, this is how it's supposed to be done. What a beautiful couple, and your production and editing was just absolutely fantastic. Was this with two shooters, or three?

Thanks for sharing!...

Re: Helix Camera in Chicago is closing after 50 years - Clearance sale going on

Yep, I picked up a Canon XL H1 in the sale, and just a ton of other things. I kept going back every week for weeks. It's definitely sad, though.

Re: Couple Time

Nice roll, Tom! I think this idea of posing couples, or sticking to a purely documentary style, is all about what your brand is, and that comes from who you are. There's a place for pure...

Re: Turning off mic on Nikon D4

I was afraid that might be the case. Well... I don't plan to use the AF anyway, so hopefully we should be okay.

Turning off mic on Nikon D4

I posted this in the Nikon dSLR forum, but seems fair to post here as well. The first time I attached my Sennheiser shotgun mic to my Nikon D4, I had left my camera in AF mode, and thus could hear...

Using an exterior mic on D4

When I first plugged in my Sennheiser shotgun mic to my D4, I was still in AF mode and later I could hear the AF motor turning. I'm not with my D4 manual right now so can't check it, but can anyone...

Re: what happened to WEVA?

Thanks, guys. Does WPPI offer video competitions as well? I thought it was just photography. Good to see they offer video goods, tho.

So.. is my memory bad, or was WEVA what it was all about 10...

what happened to WEVA?

I had a wedding video company with two teams of shooters in Phoenix in 2002-04, but had to take a break for a few years. I'm back in it full-steam and quickly joined WEVA again -- only to see it's a...

Best DTE hard drive options for Canon XL H1

I used to own a wedding video company with two teams of shooters back in 2002-04, and WEVA International was the group everyone seemed to be a part of then. I"ve been a wedding photographer the last...
