Re: What's the best video format for embedding on a website?

Interesting points, Louis... I have, however, shot extensive video in Disney parks over the years, using high end gear. Yes these were strictly "hobbyist" videos, purely for personal use, but how do...

Re: What's the best video format for embedding on a website?

Yes, the "shiny new" Panny 130 can record at 720/29.97; trouble is, I need to lay Canon 7D and JVC HM100 footage onto the same timeline with it; so I am looking for the best solution for using these...

What's the best video format for embedding on a website?

I realize this is not the proper place for this thread, but I trust the opinions of the people here!
I have been hired by a friend of mine, who owns a travel agency, to shoot their video promos in...

Re: Thinking outside the box.

Coolest damn thing I've seen in a while. :)

Chris - what lens were you using on the 7D? And how (if I can ask) were you controlling aim and focus?

I'm a videographer, and my son is an...

Re: Santa came early!

Okay, here's where I confess that I touched the screen about 10 times before realizing/remembering that it wasn't a touch screen! Had that damn iPhone too long I guess!! LOL

Re: Santa came early!

I shot a couple of minutes with it this weekend; nothing fancy, just trying it out (no sound on this clip). I wanted to get some nice fall colors, but hey - I live in the California central valley,...

Re: AC130 for $3600!

Too bad; I wish I'd known this a week ago! I wanted to buy 2 AC 130's so I called B&H and asked what they could do for me. Their reply? "Nothing". That's it!! No further discussion, just 'nothing'....

Santa came early!

Okay, it was really the UPS guy, but he's like Santa to me!
Just got my Panasonic AG AC-130 yesterday. I hope to have some
time over this holiday to get to know it. If I compile any decent test...

Re: Shakin' things up a bit

No matter how you slice it, still a damn good video by any standards. I still like the 'Dirty Bit' wedding video better though. I'm sure everyone here has seen it...

Re: What is your favorite transition for a wedding video?

Thanks for all the responses. Pretty much confirms my thought that simple cuts are best. I was kidding when I said page peel, by the way... definitely cheesy. I learned the hard way (like a lot of...

What is your favorite transition for a wedding video?

Okay, I know I could go and watch all the clips online - and I have seen a great many of them - but I still wanted to ask the question straight out. What do you feel is the most effective transition...

Getting my wedding video website started...

Well, it's kinda the old vicious circle:

Can't run a wedding videography business without a website, and can't run a website without good sample wedding videos!

Guys, my question is, do you...

Re: Raw Footage

I think Warren brings up an interesting thought with the term "edited raw footage".

We all know that a good percentage of what we shoot ends up on the cutting room floor, if you'll pardon the old...

Re: First destination wedding | germany

I hate this trailer. Hate it.

Because I used to think I was a pretty good videographer/editor. Then I watched this.

Damn, dude - mad skills! Awesome work, reverse clip notwithstanding.

Re: Raw Footage

It's also worth mentioning that most of us ( I think) have in our contracts that raw footage is retained only for xx weeks or months; so if it's asked for after some time has passed, we have a simple...

Re: What order do you edit your footage?

Chris, I could not agree with you more - for two reasons:

As you said, if it's fresh in your mind, you know what you have and what you don't have. The thought process during post in much clearer....

Re: Compressor settings for YouTube

Are you in FCP 7?

Go to File> Share>YouTube

Uncheck the 'publish to YouTube' box, set your destination, and off you go.
Burn that file to DVD for your client.

Anyone laid hands on the new AC-130 yet?

Just got an email from B&H today, saying they have the new Panny AG AC-130 in stock!

I have been excited about this camera for a while now, and I am itching to hit the "place order" button!
But,...

Re: Matching XF100 footage with HF100 or Other Small Cameras

I find this thread interesting as I have a 7D and am planning to order a Panny AG AC-130 as soon as they are available. I am assuming my workflow will be:

Ingest footage from both cams into...

Re: What order do you edit your footage?

Invariably, if I edit a trailer (whether it be a wedding, vacation video or whatever) before I look at ALL the footage, I am greatly disappointed; "Oh, that needed to be in the trailer!!" "I should...

Re: Full-time vs. 2 Full-times

I have not just a full time job, but it takes up about 60-80 hours of my week, including some nights and weekends. However, I work very few saturdays, which is when I would expect a large percentage...

Re: Raising Prices, and Packages

Most all successful businesses raise their prices annually, or thereabouts, to keep up with inflation and rising costs. You're not paying the same for gas as when you first started, are you? Or blank...

Re: Edit time Management

OfficeTime might do the trick for you, although it's probably more than you need. But it works on Mac or PC, so whatever NLE you're using, it would be compatible with your system.

And, um, IMHO,...
