Re: New lens talk: Olympus 7-14mm 2.8, Olympus 8mm 1.8 and Voigtlander 10.5mm 0.95

Do you use an on camera LED? I use the 12-35mm at a lot of events (weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, birthdays, concerts, clubs, private parties, etc.) and I use a $30 LED (Neewer CN-160) that allows me...

Re: New lens talk: Olympus 7-14mm 2.8, Olympus 8mm 1.8 and Voigtlander 10.5mm 0.95

I'm not sure why you're comparing the 8mm fisheye to the 12-35mm. A fisheye is an effect lens to be used sparingly, not a go-to wide angle lens. Plus, the ability to zoom with the 12-35 outweighs...

Re: Lens for Panasonic GH4.

If you're shooting in a dusty/dirty/damp environment, or into the sun, a UV filter is what you're looking for. To minimize reflections in glass/water and to bring back richness in the sky, a...

Re: Lens for Panasonic GH4.

Also, autofocus and IS are invaluable for live event shooting. You can always turn those off, but you can't turn them on if they don't exist.

Re: Lens for Panasonic GH4.

Shooting on primes with a shallow depth of field is great if every shot is precomposed/staged. If you intend to shoot live events then having moving subjects constantly going in and out of focus and...

Re: Sony FS7 shooter needed June 27 Deland Fl.

They do one day rentals, but they're closed on the weekend and seeing as you need it on a Saturday you would be forced to rent it for three days, unfortunately.

I'm in Orlando, but my main cams are the Panasonic GH4 and Sony NX5U. Are you open to renting?

Re: Lens for Panasonic GH4.

No, you don't use a speedbooster with native lenses. That's the same as my link and what Gary mentioned.

Re: Lens for Panasonic GH4.

I shoot weddings, bar mitzvahs, quince's, etc. and my go-to lens for 85% of the shots is the 12-35mm f/2.8. To gain more light just boost up your ISO and/or make sure you have a good on-camera LED. ...

Re: Panasonic App used as video monitor for GH4

I do that with an iPad Air. There's a slight amount of lag here and there, but nothing too bad. This is a shot of my GH4 on an iFootage M1 jib at an Indian wedding last weekend.

Re: Upgrade audio (Roland R-44 to SD 302+), or use what I have?

I agree with you guys, but I kept seeing people say you should have really high quality pre-amps to match mics like the 416 and that the R-44's aren't up to snuff. As with many things, paying a...
