Re: C100 Profile help - asap please!

Fixed the color up a little and stabilized, I'm a bit happier now.
Now, just trying to decide to shoot on 709Log or the WideDR

C100 Profile help - asap please!

I went out and shot some footage of the public market today with the new C100. I used the wide Dr profile and just added a slight curve to the picture with a tad of saturation. I'm really not happy...

Re: Another Mk3 or the C100?

I just had the tossup between a 5dm3 and C100 to replace my HMC40 and to go with my 550D. The C100 won and just purchased it today. For it it was all about the XLR and ability to shoot all day. 5d...

Re: Renting a 5d mark iii, questions

Ok, thanks. Have a tamron 24-70 and 70-200 to use with it, since the Sigma 30 won't work. I'll give myself a day or two to acclimate.

Renting a 5d mark iii, questions

I have a few weddings coming up in August, and my 550D is just not cutting it for the lowlight. Still saving up for the C100 for my HMC40 replacement.
Anyhow, I was going to rent the C100, but the...

Re: My thoughts on lenses and setups and how they work for me

Thanks for the feedback.
Really looking forward to purchasing the C100.
Actually selling my Tokina right now, as yes I prefer primes as well, where the wife likes zooms :)

My thoughts on lenses and setups and how they work for me

I’m going to put up my opinions for a few various lenses and setups with my DSLR video usage. Weather this helps anyone decide on a lens or a setup great, if not, I’m just here to ramble then. I’ve...

Re: Wenner & Grossman Wedding

Ah, yes, I see. Thanks, though we knew the couple, and they knew we come from a more commercial video business, and were just getting into the wedding side of things. Thanks though!

Wenner & Grossman Wedding

So we are still perfecting our wedding craft, but getting better each time.
This wedding made me go buy a 70-200 after renting one for the ceremony :)
Purchased a small LED and a Tokina 11-16...

Re: My first funeral shoot...

We did one just recently for our friend who passed away of cancer ( 29 years old )
I have turned them down before, as I felt too unsure of the idea, but being a friend I couldn't say no.
Anyhow it...

Re: lav mic for zoom h1

Audio-Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier is what I'm using to mic my grooms with an H1 works good.
Cord is a little long, but that's all.

Recommendation on a case/bag

Can anyone recommend an affordable bag or case for the HMC40 that will allow me to keep the NTG-2 mic attached while in the case? I don't want to have to disconnect.
Thanks!

Not bad at all.
What length slider dolly did you use for the opening shot in the library?

One of my personal scripts

I shot this one over the summer. Personal project filmed in one day.
The trailer would be rated PG-13 - maybe not work safe due to the nature of the movie
Edited in Sony Vegas, title done in...

Shooting in 24p, when would you use a higher shutter speed?

Just curious if anyone could shed some light here, I stick to the general rule of thumb when shooting 24p 1/48 or 1/50 depending on the camera.
What would you want to achieve by shooting a higher...

Re: Would you have used an LED light?

Thanks for all the replies, I ended up ordering NEEWER® 160 LED CN-160 for when it's needed.
By the way, the image is not color corrected at all, just de-noised and a render to upload, no other...

Re: Would you have used an LED light?

I have plenty of studio lights, but no, no on camera LED ( speedlights, yes )
I'll have to invest in one.
And I was on a tripod, so couldn't really move around without losing the shot.

Would you have used an LED light?

Looking over the footage I shot for a wedding on Sunday, it was dark, really dark, with lighting on the dance floor with just a chandeler ( spelling, sorry ), and outside, just the sparklers, and the...

Re: Can we do this yet? Video length

The 550D does this as well, but it only records durations of each clip, so every time you stop and start recording, the duration starts over at 0seconds, unlike a video camera that will keep adding...

Re: Can we do this yet? Video length

Duration of the current clip is not the same as duration of all clips filmed since resetting a main timer, as you would a video camera

Re: Can we do this yet? Video length

Guess it isn't an option yet. I can always buy a cheap digital timer and manually start it when I'm shooting I guess to keep track of total recorded length.

Re: Can we do this yet? Video length

Not that, I'm looking for something to keep track of running time shot. Like on my Panasonic I hit reset to clear the counter, and when I pause or stop shooting, the timer stops, etc.
