Re: Pics of the F3 on a handheld rig
Looks nice and clean Nate, but how could that setup be perfectly counterbalanced when most of the weight is fore of the ET shoulder mount...?
On my show we are running dual Dionic 90's with an AB...

Re: Do you use Tota Lights?
Kevin, it depends on what package I'm using--if said interview is part of a larger project where I have a decent size lighting package, I generally use a large source like a 1K open face into a...

Re: Do you use Tota Lights?
As Bill said, they are best used for lighting a large area like a cyc, backdrop or background element. Or bounced or through diffusion. They can't be scrimmed so your only option for adjusting their...

Re: Arriflex mounted lenses for HZ-CA13U
If the Angenieux 12-120 is the one that I'm thinking of, that was generally found inside the blimped housing of the 16BL, I'd be hard pressed to recommend it for an HD camera...I recall it being soft...

Re: Creating the Noir look
Good points, Dan. When I approached "The Perfect Sleep" I had no intention of faithfully recreating a classic noir look, simply to work within the genre.

Re: Older Steadicam Flyer or Pilot?
Great answer Andrew, that pretty much covers it.I'd only add that the physical design of the Pilot is an improvement over the Flyer particular in terms of the battery/monitor configuration (allowing...

Re: Creating the Noir look
I guess it would be up to Lee to decide if it would be thread hijacking, but it seems pretty on-topic to me. I find it a lot easier to discuss lighting in specific terms than vagaries anyway. Much...

Re: Creating the Noir look
I tackled a noir feature called "The Perfect Sleep" (http://www.theperfectsleep.com/1080/1080.HTML) some years ago, it was a hoot to work in that genre. It's kind of all about the shadows, whether on...

The webisodes are complete and HBO, I'm told, is very happy with them--however there are no immediate plans for their release, since HBO doesn't have an existing webisode site (we suspect HBO GO)....

Re: Heli Stabilizer Rig Rental
Vincent Laforet did plenty of successful aerial work with the 5D--just look at the film that started it all, "Reverie". He uses a dual gyro handheld rig with that setup. I'm sure there is a pic...

Good work for your first few outings with the Scout! You have an aptitude for it.
To get your accuracy down, rather than "chasing the kids through the house" you will be better off with...
