Re: Looking at stepping up from XF100 to XF300

I have said it a few times in other topics on this forum but my Sony cx730 is equally light sensitive compared to my T2I (which should be comparable in lowlight to the 7d) paired with a 35mm f1.4...

Re: Looking at stepping up from XF100 to XF300

Adding gain does not have to be a bad thing, just see how well a sony fs100 or a 5d markIII perform at very high gain levels with very clean images as result, it's all about how the camera's handles...

Re: Looking at stepping up from XF100 to XF300

Try doing this with a canon xa10 or a sony emor r series, you have to see it to believe it but my small sony cx730 can match my t2i in low light when I use a 35mm f 1.4 lens, wide open at 1600 iso...

Re: BD Discs - recommendations

I"m using quvido blu ray printables now without any issues so far, I had a batch of verbatims before but they appeared to be "lth" (low to high) discs that caused many playbackproblems on older...

Re: misleading sony commercials

really, you don't see it?? That shows how careful they picked their shots, when you see someone filming they overdid the shallow dof but just look at the following shots and pause the image: 00:02,...

misleading sony commercials

Commercials often tend to exaggerate and often it's intentional to highlight their strong point but go over the top with it, like everyone knows red bull doesn't make you really fly, and the viewer...

Re: Dance recital, how many unhappy parents

Same here, one camera wide that shows the whole stage and once set I don't touch it anymore and a second camera to follow the action closer, if it's a small group I keep them nicely in frame and if...

Re: Should I go for a GH2 or Canon XA-10 for run and gun?

Run and gun? xa-10 for sure, the camera will give you sharp footage, performs very well in low light and has good audio and if you have no time to set up it will perform very well in automode, forget...

Re: Canon XA10

Was the z1 not the pro version of the fx1? I have edited some fx1 footage that was used at a wedding where I was filming with my xh-a1. From what I remember the fx1 did produce very nice and warm...

Re: Transcoding t3i footage in Premiere Pro CS5?

Harm said scrolling the time line was disk I/O dependent, that's why I refered to canopus own codec as I would expect a high bitrate format to benefit from a raid set up and a heavily compressed...

Re: Transcoding t3i footage in Premiere Pro CS5?

Where do you see then the advantage of decoding avchd footage with 64bits NLE's? Does that show during playback?

About fast scrolling the time line, with 80 to 100 mbs edius HQ avi footage that...

Re: Shooting my first wedding next weekend

I think for a first wedding you did well and you seem to have done a lot of effort using different techniques like slide and steadicam like shots.

I do think you have to look at your exposure,...

Re: Transcoding t3i footage in Premiere Pro CS5?

28mb avchd and 45mbs dslr mov files run smoother in edius 6 then a trial of premiere cs6 on my pc, That is when scrolling the timeline, there I don't see any benefit of working with a 64 bit system.

Re: Canon XA10

Correct me if I'm wrong but the HVR V1 has 3 ClearVid CMOS sensors according to what I found on the Sony site.

D.J.: Where you will notice the most difference between your V1 and the XA10 is that...

Re: Transcoding t3i footage in Premiere Pro CS5?

Thx Harm for the explanation

Cineform doesn't seem to be that optimised for use in Premiere, the intermediate codec in Edius f.i. gives a major speed improvement, both in Editing and...

Does cs6 perform the same as cs5.5?
What do the changes in caching mean, is it something adobe can correct with a update?

Re: Anyone using C300 for Weddings?

One easy trick to get a much better exposed shot under these circumstances is to put the exposure in automatic, the camera will then do a very gradual iso adjustment, I have done steadicam shots from...
