MUST SEE | Best Wedding Toast Ever | Serendipity Studios

It’s not often I’m impressed by a wedding toast. Don’t get me wrong, I hear plenty of great wedding toasts. It’s just rare that one really stands out for me, especially to the point that days later...

Re: Trust

First and foremost, it's not the DSLR that makes for a cinematic production. It's how you shoot and how you edit. You can produce cinematic work with XHA1's just as we used to.

Re: Prime lens for processional?

Hey, Jeff, I'm assuming you're planning to follow focus on the subjects as they walk up the aisle, right? If not, and you're just looking for them to walk in and out of a specific focal point then...

Re: Toasts

First and foremost, nothing against solo shooters using a single camera. There are multiple segments of the wedding video market and that approach surely works for one of those segments.

However,...

Re: Chris + Natalie | Epic Palm Beach Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Loved it. I walked in after a pretty hectic and difficult day and was immediately infused with inspiration. Gorgeous venue. Great couple too. d;-)

So without a doubt...

Re: Toasts

I'd say you're on the right track then. At the end of the the day I always say do what works best for YOU. I will say, though, that there is a bit of a fanatical craze in the industry right now to...

Re: Anyone given up on the DSLR for event?

You don't 'need' a 50 1.4 in your bag. I don't have one in mine. d;-)

Re: Toasts

Three cameras ... on tripod with 70-200 on toaster ... on tripod with 24-70 on couple ... on monopod with 70-200 for tight audience reactions.

I asked in the other thread why you were using all...

Re: Wedding Videography Decorum

Alen, I apologize if I offended you. I didn't intend to. I simply meant to point out that, like yourself, there are a multitude of guests at every wedding shooting photos and video now. And the...

Re: Wedding Videography Decorum

I just can't help but point out that any comparisons between how the royal wedding was filmed and how an 'ordinary' wedding can be filmed needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt.

The filming...

Re: Bridesmaid with revealing dress; how do you cope.

Assuming you did your best to shoot around the eyesore, there's nothing more you should feel responsible to do. As Michael said .. "It is what it is". I would try to edit around it as much as you...

Re: DSLRs: am I just being paranoid?

We no longer use UV filters as we don't see the benefit in putting a cheap piece of glass in front of an expensive piece of glass .. as in, we don't want to lose the benefit of our good glass by...

Re: DSLRs: am I just being paranoid?

Interesting that even when we used 'proper' video cameras we never relied on those cameras for our audio, yet that does seem to be a major hangup for many concerning DSLRs. Also, we never...

Re: DSLRs: am I just being paranoid?

Wow, Philip, you seem to have a chip on your shoulder regarding DSLR's. You made each of the 'benefits' you listed sound like negatives.

Look, DSLR's aren't for everyone. They DO have...

re: What do you do when you take ill

That's not a fun situation to be in for sure. I've worked 2 weddings this year already while sick .. and one of them was on a day that was very hot and humid. I just posted the highlight from it...

Re: JJ + Estee | Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Thanks for watching and for the comments/questions.

Regarding song selection, we always pick the song but we are also open to suggestions that the bride and groom might have. Maybe 15-20% of the...

JJ + Estee | Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

It's not too often that we use the actual song from a couple's first dance for their highlights film. There are a lot of reasons for this, but every now and then that one song is just the right song...

Re: Gregg + Heather | Preview Trailer | Serendipity Studios

Yeah, it's just a bit less setup on the wedding day versus using and intervalometer.

Thanks for watching, though. I'm hoping the structure of this trailer really comes through. The whole reason...
