Re: Vending at a wedding/bridal expo

Thanks Jeff!

You're right. The show I did yesterday cost three times as much as the previous one, but it was money well spent.

Re: Vending at a wedding/bridal expo

I just did a bridal show yesterday, and it went great. Bookings, meetings set up, the whole thing.

It's hard to say whether this will work for you. I did a lot of selling and a ton of talking --...

Re: Are you thinking of moving to short form? What are your concerns?

Deleted?? The original question was whether you'd consider going to short-form, and what your reservations would be. I answered the question, and gave my rationale. Off topic? Hardly.

Re: Are you thinking of moving to short form? What are your concerns?

There's no way I would go to short form only. I agree with Chad -- brides want both. I've talked with countless brides who think it's ridiculous to pay someone twice as much as I charge for only a...

Re: Supply couples with Blu-ray

Haha, I find that to be true also! Most of my clients also take Blu-ray, and the groom's eyes always light up when I tell them that a PS3 plays them.

Re: HELP THE NEWBIES THREAD.....please.

I use DIY hoods around my LCD's during sunny outdoor shoots, and they work like a charm. I made them myself, so they cost next to nothing. Velcro, cardboard and gaff tape. If you do it right, they...

Re: Anyone deliver on USB Drives?

I would like nothing more than for this to happen, but I think it's going to be a long process, and may never fully get to the point where we just deliver tiny thumb drives and nothing else more...

Re: The Panasonic TM900 Users Thread

My first thought is that maybe it has something to to with the 60fps. Was your sequence in Premiere 60p or 30p? Perhaps if you're bringing a 1080/60p sequence into Encore to encode, it doesn't like...

Re: All GH1's are Hackable?!

Haha, sorry . . . I've been looking all over the forum for someone talking about it. Can you direct me to some threads?

I love the hacks . . . it's been fine with my first GH1 (except that one...

Re: HELP THE NEWBIES THREAD.....please.

Are you talking about letterboxing (black bars on the top/bottom)? If so, I don't believe there's any sort of in-camera technique for this. This has likely been achieved in one of two ways:

1....

All GH1's are Hackable?!

Somehow I missed this!

If this has been discussed elsewhere, forgive me, but I couldn't find it.

Re: HELP THE NEWBIES THREAD.....please.

Hi Jeff,

I would never recommend doing that . . . the title/action safe guides are just that: guides. Some TV's/display devices will crop somewhat, and it's usually a good idea to keep all the...

Re: AVCHD "equivalent" Export from CS5.5?

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the info! Unfortunately, I can't change the shutter to 30, because I'm shooting 60fps. I use HMC40's, a TM900, and GH1's. The only cameras I have severe noise issues with are...

Re: AVCHD "equivalent" Export from CS5.5?

This is interesting . . . I also shoot AVCHD (weddings), and when the church/reception is dark and I have to bump up the gain a lot, I remove the noise with Magic Bullet Denoiser in AE, render the...

Re: Help with .rw2 format

I always shoot raw, and prefer it very much to just capturing JPG. I agree with everything Nigel said.

Re: Divorce before video is finished

I'm sorry that I will probably upset most of you (and I apologize in advance), but in a situation like this I would try to work with the couple. I'd give them a break and not be judgmental about them...

Re: The Panasonic TM900 Users Thread

A lot of people are fired up about Panasonic changing batteries between the 700 and 900. To me, it just looks like they're trying to get more money out of us.

And I believe that this is the very...

Re: The Panasonic TM900 Users Thread

On another note, I'm looking to buy some batteries for the 900. I'm tired of paying Panasonic's bloated battery prices, and have found some Chinese knockoffs on ebay that I'm considering.

Does...

Re: Single shooters using glidecam/glidetrack/etc.

I'm a solo shooter as well. I put off getting any kind of slider for a while because I just couldn't see myself taking the time to use it.

A couple months ago, I found a small, inexpensive, used...

Re: The Panasonic TM900 Users Thread

It's gotta be the way the circuitry in each camera processes the signal and adds gain. The noise on the 900 is much less pronounced than the 40 up to 18dB.

Re: The Panasonic TM900 Users Thread

I just picked up a TM900 from B&H because I couldn't resist the $599 price. What a great camera, and thank you all for your painfully extensive discussion about this.

I've been mainly testing it...

Re: Suggestions on 3rd Cam

HMC40's would be great cost-effective cameras that would closely match the 150's. I love my 40's.
