Re: 1st wedding video
Times are changing, many years ago when I was shooting with just one Sony vx2100 and a cheapo tripod, if you didn't nail the focus exactly of if you footage was noisy or underexposed, when viewed on...

Re: using HD and SD together - question
A semi shoulder mount like a xl2 or a xlh1 are equally worse to handhold compared to a xh-a1. You only get more stability since you have an extra point against your shoulder but a lot of the wheight...

Re: One Summer Evening with the FS700
At how many fps and in what kind of resolution was this shot?
I also see there is quite some aliasing in the first clip, also when viewed at 1080p, is that a result of the slowmotion mode or has...

Re: 1st wedding video
That's like the size of a bazooka and you then filmed handheld? :) That explains the shakyness and sometimes out of focus images, the xh-a1 has one of the worst lcd screens to accurately judge focus...

Re: using HD and SD together - question
I just looked and the xh-a1 has a SD 4:3 and 16:9 setting so there is enough room to experiment to see what matches best but it will be no HD as his boss requested.
I remember an old article of...

Re: 1st wedding video
I think the shots you toke give sufficient material to produce a nice wedding video but I have the same comment as Nate. Just a monopod would have made a difference, I also see you used a dslr and a...

Re: using HD and SD together - question
It will show, the reason why is that you have to letterbox the "4:3" xl2 to get a "16:9" aspectratio meaning you will loose resolution, you are better off using the xh-a1 for the wide shot and zoom...

Re: DSLR vs. Video Camera
I actually fly my dslr with a 14mm f2.8 lens wide open all the time, since I use it at darker receptions it needs to be at F2.8 and iso 800/1600 to get decent exposure, my samyang lens has no...

Re: DSLR vs. Video Camera
The xh-a1 was a first gen hd camera and it starts to show, it does outperform my canon dslr's in resolution but like you said, low light sucks, even compared to my sony xr520. But it's not jus the...

Re: DSLR vs. Video Camera
I at least can't match my 550d's with my xha1 as both images are too different, if I put a wide angle lens on my dslr and place it side by side with my xh-a1, the xh-a1 is noticeable sharper. Also...

And sure it had a script, but not a good one, It was one of the most predictable movies I saw the last years, just like any Michael Bay movie.

Re: DSLR vs. Video Camera
Do you use your ex1 and the dslr on the same shoots and if you do, how do they match? the resolution diference between the 2 must be obvious, no?

Re: Windows or OS X?
Exactly, platform doesn't matter, performance does, Adobe software requires a powerfull pc/mac, preferably packed with memory and a approved gpu to get the most from it.

I felt it was more a popcorn rollercoaster ride, close your eyes and enjoy, it has all the standard ingredients to make it a blockbuster, just like any Michael Bay movie. But that's just the kind of...
