Re: Sneak Peek at Sony POV
I am enjoying the time-lapse feature. Here are two time-lapse scenes: one at an airport terminal and the other at Trafalgar Square, London in pouring rain (that waterproof case came in handy). In the...

Re: Sneak Peek at Sony POV
The Youtube videos are doubly compressed - by the maker of the videos in an editor and by Youtube. Here are originals from the camera:
1. An original jpeg taken from the interval recording mode....

Re: Sneak Peek at Sony POV
Here are three things I have learned so far:
1. The camera puts out a clean HDMI signal as 108060i (really 30p). You could attach a Nanoflash or Ninja and record high-bitrate video from the camera...

Re: Sneak Peek at Sony POV
Thanks for the info. Clearly wifi-phone is useful for framing the shot, and also better than an attached lcd for self-portraits, like in two of your videos.
I just got mine today.

Re: Portable Media Player
No DVD player will play HD files. most especially not the one listed above (which has a ridiculously low-resolution screen too).
I assume you need:
1. A widescreen for viewing, not too big or...

Re: Attention serious documentary filmmakers!
The audio with agc off is excellent. Here is a sample of audio from one afternoon's video takes - sound from a distant boat bell, to large engines (including an airplane engine starting close up), to...

Re: Attention serious documentary filmmakers!
Question...in very quiet room, does the mic pick up the sound of the AF working hard? (The only way around that on the Powershot S100 I tried out was to set the lens manually, just guessing for run...

Re: Attention serious documentary filmmakers!
You really should check out the GW77. It is superior in all ways but one (manual control of shutter and aperture) to the RX100. Having a big sensor packed with pixels is not really useful for run and...

"I am considering the TM900 (over the HMC150) for indoor hockey."
Here is a TM900 hockey video (in a dim arena):

Audio from the Sony HDR-GW77
Most pros know that audio in video is very important. Turns out the GW77 has a remarkable ability to capture audio - the full dynamic range.
This short video includes clips (from one event) with...
