Re: Our Best Yet -- Would love your thoughts

Thanks for your feedback, Ben.

We shoot on Panasonic HMC150s, and in 720/60p and edit in Final Cut. All of the audio in this video is recorded with a couple of Sennheiser wireless lav sets...one...

Re: Our Best Yet -- Would love your thoughts

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the input. The vows do drag in the middle...I'm noticing this more every time I watch it. Are there other spots you thought dragged on too much as well? Would love to hear...

Re: Our Best Yet -- Would love your thoughts

No worries Tim...most discussions on here are educational, even if they are off topic. :-) I appreciate any advice and info from any angle, this has been a very interesting discussion for sure.

Re: Our Best Yet -- Would love your thoughts

Thanks Tim,
The clients have seen this and are head over heels with it.

The color balance is questionable, for sure, and not done for effect. It was extremely sunny (and hot, which has nothing...

Re: Our Best Yet -- Would love your thoughts

Noa, thanks for the input...I don't mind you pointing any of that out at all. I had no idea how many zooms were there until you pointed it out. The one I was most aware of was the shot where they...

Our Best Yet -- Would love your thoughts

Despite being in business for 3 years now, I feel like there is just always something to learn, which will probably be the case in this ever-changing business for the rest of my life. That's ok.

Re: Mic'd up with Zooms (or other audio recorders)

I have to say, the few times we have used the zoom with a lapel I have been really impressed with how great it sounds as well. Two worries that get me though...As Chris said, it's tough for me to...

Mic'd up with Zooms (or other audio recorders)

Originally posted this in the "members only' by accident, so sorry for the double post, but hoping to get some feedback:

For those of you using a Zoom or similar to mic someone...do you leave the...

Re: Anybody using a Panasonic HC-X900M?

I don't have an answer, but want to know as well. We were looking into getting something like this as just a stationary back-up cam. Would be interested in knowing how it mixes in as well!

Re: Shooting weddings with small handicams

Yes, I want to know too about the 130's! Is it just the auto mode that turns you off, or are there other features you have been disappointed with?

Re: Go Pro cameras

Thanks for the clip Art, exactly what I was hoping to see...seems like for $300 bucks for some "safety" footage (which is exactly what I'm looking for) you can't really go wrong with these! I may...

Re: Go Pro cameras

I'm curious about these cameras as well...mostly curious to see how the footage mixes with our other cameras. We shoot on HMC - 150s, but I would be curious to see if anyone has a short clip of...

Re: Is converging media capture causing videographers problems

Hi George...I see your point, yes it is different from what I was getting at. On your point, I can totally agree that I would not want a photographer taking my prime video spot...although even with...

Re: Is converging media capture causing videographers problems

Bill, I was thinking the same thing...If I'm at a wedding, I've already won the battle with the photographer who is shooting video. They booked me for my product because my samples, or a friend's...

Re: Priests That Won't Wear Mics - How do you Cope?

I'm glad this thread is getting so much response. It seems like everyone has a pretty similar audio tactic...mic the groom and a recorder on the lectern...drop another recorder somewhere else...

Re: Priests That Won't Wear Mics - How do you Cope?

That is good advice George, thank you...I don't mean to sound offended, I do think it is a great idea to tell them to contact their church first. We do have in our contract that they should find out...

Re: Priests That Won't Wear Mics - How do you Cope?

Yes, George, the abbreviated Catholic wedding is my preference too. Unfortunately this season already I've had two brides (this one included) request the full mass.

Just to be clear, the...

Re: Priests That Won't Wear Mics - How do you Cope?

Thanks for the input...often we do only mic the groom and there has been very little issue with audio...but like I said, there's that small percent that sometimes we can't pick up what we want from...

Re: Priests That Won't Wear Mics - How do you Cope?

Wow...OK, I didn't post this expecting to get lectured on rules and ethics...but thanks for that.

The bride herself presented this agreement to me and without me even bringing it up already knew...

Priests That Won't Wear Mics - How do you Cope?

I always, always suggest to brides that they ask their officiant or priest to wear a microphone, but it seems like we still run into that very old-fashioned, strict Catholic priest that flat out says...
