XHA1 newb here. Only had the camcorder for about 5-6 months and this is only the 3rd time I've used it, (1st outdoors).

I assume you use the camcorder then so programs recognize the files? What would you do it you had the RAW .MTS files and the camcorder was not available?

I'm using Sony DVM63 tapes just like the previous owner was.
