Re: NO rolling shutter in Super Slow Mo!

One thing I've noticed in SSM is decreased battery life. I've not quantified how much less but it looks like the camera draws a good bit more power when in this mode. For sure the electronics are...

Re: NO rolling shutter in Super Slow Mo!

I noticed the lack of skew on mine when playing around with the slo-mo modes. I planned to do a test to better document the difference.

Wouldn't it be great if they could enable that readout mode...

Re: Just curious; did you buy the FS700 with kit lens?

I bought mine with the lens. I want to see if it is useful for steadicam applications. Otherwise I'll be using vintage Canon FD glass on it.

Re: Are the originalsony picture profiles available?

You can save them to a memory card so no retyping them. Does the firmware update indicate it breaks the profile loading from previous versions of the firmware?

Re: FS700 Emergency! Please help!

The setup files between a EX1 and EX1r are not compatible. Why even try it between different model cameras?

Re: Looking for Feedback on the Aviator MX

I went to NAB a few years ago ahead of my first stabilizer purchase and tried on every single rig I could find. None of them had the feel of the Pilot (in its price range).

I ran the Pilot for a...

Re: Rolling-Shutter Artifacts on Large-Sensored Cameras

Lets look at a quick comparison with your HC9 and a Canon 7d.

The HC9 has a 3.2mp imager. It doesn't use all of it but for comparison sake lets say it does. That means if you are shooting 24fps...

Re: Rolling-Shutter Artifacts on Large-Sensored Cameras

Let me be more specific. It is not the data rate of the recording medium but the data rate at which the imager data is read into the frame buffer. This is the issue with skew. The faster the data can...

My FS700 arrived last Friday but I was unable to do anything with it till Saturday afternoon. I shot a little at my friends house to test out the 240fps images. Everyone loved seeing all the little...

Re: New 7D Firmware vers_2 announced

It should be a pretty simple decision. If its not the right tool for your work then it is absolutely time to sell it and move on.

Re: Rolling-Shutter Artifacts on Large-Sensored Cameras

The problem is caused by data rate. The pixel density can have a big affect on the problem but sensor size will not. How quickly the data is read off the chip determines how severe those artifacts...

Re: FS100 - Low light performance with lens stopped down

I don't own a FS100 but do have access to one. My FS700 arrived last Friday. I'm sure a test could be set up.

I don't own or have access to resolution charts. The best I could do would be...

Re: Aerials Info: Multi-Rotor platform gotcha

I doubt you will find anyone renting one without an operator. Lots of liability there.

Re: Aerials Info: Multi-Rotor platform gotcha

A setup that will lift a dSLR starts at about $5k and that is if you buy a kit and build it yourself.

If you are looking for a ready-to-fly setup expect to pay $10-12k.

What you are asking...
