Re: Weird Skin Tones from the GH4?
Below film was shot in cine-d but with the gh4 with apparently quite some post processing in Davinci to make it look good (not my film).
I personally prefer to shoot natural now with my panasonics...

Foucus direction Samyang lenses with nikon mount
From the few vintage nikon lenses I owned in the past I know that their focus ring direction was the opposite of a Canon or Panasonic lens, not sure if that is still is the case with new lenses, I...

Been testdriving win 10 the past weeks and no real problems to report, what I do like about it is that it's a polished version of 7, everything just looks better (more up to date) and software...

Re: Just got the LS300 camera - very happy so far
While that would be nice to have the reasoning behind not including it might be that the JVC is a professional camera hence the sdi output and smartphones are not considered professional monitoring...

Re: Bit the bullet
Don't think Steve was comparing with the c300, he just said he had a good time with it :)
I"m sure Canon does this to clearly separate their Video/photo line, if you want to have a "video"...

Re: Just got the LS300 camera - very happy so far
Maybe they did it to save on cost, I don't know, the camera forces you to trust on it's aids like peaking, histogram etc to get it right which is not necessarily a bad thing because they give you a...

Re: Focusing Target for Stage and Dance setups.
Thx for sharing! Prefocussing on an empty stage, even a well lit one, can be very tricky because peaking doesn't work well on the floor and dark background and letting your camera do a autofocus is...

Re: FS5 - Are you doing manual WB?
Ah, sweet memories, 10 years ago I was doing a videocourse where we had to shoot with a Sony dsr250p which also only had a b&w viewfinder, I"m not sure but I think it couldn't even do autoWB and we...

I had the first generation Samyang lenses which did not have a declicked iris, only my 24mm was also a first gen cine lens with a declicked iris so it might be that Samyang has improved their glass...

Re: Just got the LS300 camera - very happy so far
allthough some MFT lenses can utilize the entire sensor MFT lenses are normally designed to use a smaller part of the sensor (about 80% of the sensor) and yes, they can achieve a shallower dof...

You make it sound as if that is a bad thing :) MFT lenses can be just as good as apsc lenses (when it comes to IQ) that cover the entire sensor. I also think you are misunderstanding the concept of...

I believe they do this for any size sensor that deviates from a 35mm full frame sensor as that appears to be a standard that's used to indicate what field of view you will get. With m4/3 is simple,...

I still got it wrong apparantly :) In that case like Steve said you can change the vsm for the focal length to match but the same "problem" will occur, which is that the dof will not be the same as a...

ok, now I see :) With jvc's prime zoom feature you can get a 2.3x maximum zoom for HD or 1.25x maximum zoom for 4K but a 15mm will not behave like a 30mm, you can zoom with the 15mm so you get the...

Re: Full Sensor Dream Lenses
It's a f1.7 lens so in low light it should compare to any other lens that can do f1.7, there are no bad panasonic m4/3 lenses if you don't mind the fly by wire focus and the fact that you don't have...
