Re: Can anyone recommend a good slider?
I haven't used it, but cinevate makes good products. They have the duzi which is smaller and cheaper than the atlas. Made for run and gun situations.
Duzi Camera Slider...

Re: Who's doing wedding fairs?
Why not do twice as many weddings at half the price so you can reach twice as many brides for future referrals?
It seems like there is this impression that the more you charge the less you...

Re: Who's doing wedding fairs?
Hi James,
I've haven't seen a website or anything of yours, so you may already be doing this.
I think branding should be something you work on regardless of your business size. Everything you...

Re: How do you manage client data?
If you advertise on the wedding wire they have a CSM tool that comes with their service. I've used it for this wedding season and it's been fantastic. Brides can sign a contract on the website,...

Re: My first few.
I use DSLRs, but I haven't used a shoulder rig, but a good monopod is a life saver. It's easy to maneuver and you can get creative shots with it.
We use a monopod during the prep, bride...

Re: Red Epic slow Motion Booth
This could be true, but it seems that photo booths are very popular and those are essentially the same thing every time.
Anything is going to be more fun to watch when it is people you know. ...

Re: How much do you use your glidecam?
Anyone thought about using one of the MOVI type devices? Obviously the MOVI is expensive, but there are cheaper alternatives and the prices will probably continue to come down. May be a nice way to...

Re: Ceremony audio - What lengths do you go to?
I try to mic the groom and the officiant if at all possible. I like the sound to be as good as possible. It's just another way to differentiate the wedding film from something that "uncle bob"...

Re: What do you guys deliver first?
I try to get a sneak peek video up within a day of the wedding. It's about a minute long, but it gives a quick preview for bride/guest to get excited about. No story, just fun shots.
The...

Re: Sony A99 or Panasonic GH3
Good summary, just to clarify one though. The 5D Mark 3 solved the moire issue, but it is true with the other Canon cameras that moire is present.

Re: Sony A99 or Panasonic GH3
I've used the GH3 and the 5D Mark III. They are both great cameras. One thing to note, the GH3 does not have focus peaking and the 5D you can get it with Magic Lantern.
I ended up selling my...

Re: How much do you use your glidecam?
I use mine during the processional (if there's room, otherwise it's probably a slider instead), during the photoshoot, and some of the reception.
Most of the time I just use a slider and a...

Re: Need to supply discs for North America
I looked in to this once, but didn't have to execute anything, so I haven't actually tested anything, but what I found was that Blu-Ray disc were fine in both regions. PAL disc will not play in NTSC...

Hi Chavelegi,
I think about half of my weddings go out Blu-Ray. I've found it is something people want from me.
I'm not at home so I don't remember the exact burner, but it was an external...

Re: How do you deal with re-edits?
YouTube shows ads for two reason. There is the option to commercialize your content by putting an ad at the front of it, which gives the owner like a penny per view (or something close to that) or...

Re: What's so great about Canon DSLRs?
The Rokinon (Samyang in Europe) brand is really good. High quality glass and less expensive than the L glass. It's all manual though. The aperture is on the lens, so you can't use autofocus (a...
