It still records in 2:3 pulldown (60i). Bummer. Not as big a deal as you still have to transcode AVCHD.

If you already have a DVX100, then buying another one makes sense because their color, sharpness and everything else will match up nicely in edit. It really doesn't make sense to have a DVX100/FX1...

There is no quality difference since basically its a file transfer of your video footage via iLink to your computer.

What you lose out on is either PAL or NTSC playback, unless you buy another HC3...

I think the originals look better... closer to film-like. CC31 details in the highlights are especially blown out on his shirt which isn't the case with CC32. Blown highlights scream cheap video......

Just finished a formal test and found a sharpness setting of 0 just way too blurry for my tastes. Even downsampled to 1280x720 looks blurry. I like how there is no black halos but the lack thereof...

I use a Polaris light meter. It goes from 3-8000 ISO and 0.5-90 f-stops. Has reflected and incident light readings and EV. Easy to use. Paid $50.

If you want "best", expect to spend around $550.

I can't recall if older versions of FCP allowed custom frame rates, but I believe it may have. Unfortunately, none of my Macs are able to run OS9 so I can't test older FCP versions.

Is there any Mac editing program that can handle the editing of 5 fps movies? I've tried with FCP but it only seems to accept standard frame rates of 24 and 30 fps.
