Re: Color Fix: Black is Brown?

That is a serious case of IR contamination. The EX1 and EX3 are both susceptible to that issue. Its most pronounced when shooting in sunlight or under hot lights with certain fabric types. Black car...

Re: Anyone planning to use EF-S Lenses?

One of the pluses to the L glass is the full time manual focus overide. You can't do that with most of the consumer lenses.

Re: EX1R+Nano: Lowest voltage with the Swit U-8U62?

The point of dropoff is going to be the same. Only the slope of the curve will be different. Stop at 12v and the battery will last longer (more cycles). Deeply discharging lithium batteries...

Get ready for a more manual operating experience. The autofocus is not the same as the HDV cameras. It doesn't track objects that move around the...

Hahahaha,

That was spectacularly awesome in its horribleness.

Re: Dead pixel

I've not seen anything official from Canon about how it works. It does work though.

I've had a white pixel issue on my 7d and the manual cleaning for 1 min took care of it.

Look through the menu and do the manual sensor cleaning first. You may save yourself some time sending it in for service.

Re: Prototype SmallHD DP1 12" 1280x720 native hdmi monitor

Increasing the price mid stream while you were getting the shipping details together for me isn't a nice thing to do.

Wasn't the DP1 a 8.9" monitor? There may be some confusion there.

Due to...

Re: How can I avoid dropped frames in a DV AVI Firewire capture on a modern computer?

I can suggest something that I have found is 100% bulletproof for dropped frames with DV and HDV. Use a dedicated recorder and not a computer.

I have 3 of the nNovia recorders that have been...

Re: Canon FD lens video

You'll spend 10x that for a 85 f1.2 and worth every penny. Its that good.

I'm working to get my hands on the matching 50mm now.

Re: Dead pixel

Have you done the manual sensor cleaning yet?

That should mask them in the software. Had one on my 7d and that took care of it.

Re: Check your camera for stuck pixels

Have you tried to black balance the camera a few times in a row? That should take care of the problem. Could save you some time waiting for the repair shop to do the same thing.
