Just spent an hour and a half trying to get this evolution kit working with the H4. It's driving me nuts. Every time i try to switch on phantom power the zoom cuts out and restarts. Any ideas?

OK. I have the zoom H4 (not the N version). I'm shooting on a 5dmkii in the Middle East next month and wish to travel as lightly as possible. I have previously shot interviews through my evolution...

So the only way to record interviews with the Zoom is to use the onboard mics and keep it out of shot?

This works well but means i'll need to carry an extra tripod (or stand) which i was not...

Glen,

The XHA1 is half the price of the XF300 here in the UK, and is significantly smaller than the new camera, so i'm not sure this is a good comparison at present.

I saw the 2 cameras next...

Why would someone do that, shoot at 35mbs - just to save a little data on the CF Card

Perhaps if you were cutting it with an EX1 and wanted to keep everything the same?

Personally, id never dream of shooting anything other than 50, since that is one of the chief things you're...

Steve Mullen

Excellent myth-busting posts. And long overdue.

The tiresome drone of 24p fetishists is very boring, and often delusional IMO. Like the emperor's new clothes you have to be a...

Nigel

No doubt the resolution is "not as good as i think", but with the L - glass it looks like a very expensive set up to me, and other's i've shown it to. That's more than good enough for me.

Great test Doug. Must say i was very impressed with the tele-converter and wouldn't hesitate to use it, but i see your point regarding an FCP blow-up. Either way it's a winner. I love this new cam....
