Re: Canon XA10 Low-Light vs Panasonic GH2

Thanks for your input Jeff. Your wedding experience may make you one of the most low-light challenged here. I remember your struggle to find fast low-light GH2 lenses for your weddings.

May I ask...

Re: GH2: Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden

Thanks for the good words Don. Actually, all video, but some of the flowers were very still. In Arizona a polarizer is our best friend.

Thanks for watching.

Re: GH2: Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden

Thanks for watching Robert. I imagine chasing kids is more difficult than butterflies at times.

Thanks for the kind words Jeff. The Gardens would be a fine place for a wedding, and I hope your son enjoys the project too.

Canon XA10 Low-Light vs Panasonic GH2

I'm impressed by the Canon XA10 low-light reports, and am looking for it to possibly replace a Panasonic TM700. My current low-light performer is the Panasonic GH2, and would be interested to know...

GH2: Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden

A spring, then summer visit to the Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens.
Spring is the ideal time to see cactus in bloom, and the butterfly house exibit.

Re: X Vario lenses

Agree totally with William relative to X 14-42. Live zoom is useless. I also see no advantage to this multi-coat lens, as flare is an even bigger issue due to no lens hood.

I highly recommend the...

Re: The Panasonic TM900 Users Thread

Thank you for the kind words Luc. Happy to hear you enjoyed the project. I typically prefer a B+W polarizer, but used a 46mm screw-on Tiffen here. No vignetting full-wide with the TM700.

Thanks...

Re: Upgrading from the GH2 - your views

I've been mining for information regarding the Canon XF100 and 300. Their 50mbps and 4.2.2 color are appealing, but good video samples are hard to find.

Good luck with your search.

Re: The Panasonic TM900 Users Thread

Though I've been using a GH2 instead of my TM700 for the last year or so, I've enjoyed watching what's happening with the TM900/X900 here. Your videos, and a recent update making Final Cut Pro X...

Re: GH2: Havasupai - Land of Waterfalls

Unfortunately, though I really liked working with the 7D, the quality of high detail landscape video was highly unpredictable.

Re: Knowing what the auto ISO is on

Tim,

Unfortunately, there is no metadata available for GH2 video files. However, you can take a reference image (photo) before recording. The image will contain the metadata you seek.

Re: Just received the Lumix G Vario PZ 14-42 lens

William,

I'll be looking forward to some good news regarding this lens. I cancelled my order after waiting 8 months, then reading some very poor reviews.

Fingers crossed.
