Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings

No matter how you handhold the camera, if there is no lens or sensor stabilisation it results in unusable footage, unless you are ok with the jitter or you like the look of post stabilisation.

Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings

Then also the fact it is missing a viewfinder makes it even less suitable for handheld shooting, that means you have to hold the camera in front of you instead of against your eye and you"ll loose...

Re: Audio recording using external recorder ...

It would be interesting to know if Stu could tell what type of audiorecorder his friend is using.

Re: Audio recording using external recorder ...

Every single recorder I have owned the past years drifted, the zoom h1, h4, the tascam dr5,10,40,60, all of them, sometimes only a few frames on a hour recording, other times a second or more. This...

Re: Audio recording using external recorder ...

Any external recorder will drift, you have to correct that in post.

Re: How are the detais in the Shadows on GH5s Low-Light?

Yes, that’s right, batteryusage is very different between the 2 camera’s, I have not timed it either but I think I could record 2 one hour ceremonies on the gh5s and still have batterypower left.

Re: How are the detais in the Shadows on GH5s Low-Light?

The gh5s is more sensitive in low light then you ever would need and it can see more in the dark then you can with your own eyes.

I have shot a few weddings with it now of which some where candle...

Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings

If I use 4 camera's at a ceremony I just let them run for an hour and sync manually in post, takes less then 5 minutes. I don't think weddingshooters worry about timecode. It looks like BM wanted to...

Re: Looking for replacement rubber eye piece

Just wanted to report back that I ordered the eyecup from guerillaproducts and it fits like a glove, it's actually a much tighter fit then the standard one. It also allows the lcd screen to open and...

Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings

Only if it's autofocus would be as good as the sony a7III, if not I"d rather put my money into some Olympus f1.2 primes. :)

Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings

It still remains to be seen if a full frame GH type of camera will be that much cleaner then a GH5S considering you will have to push it to a higher iso to maintain a dof that is managable. I never...

Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings

But being able to shoot wide open all day long at f1.2 or f1.4 is one of the advantages of m4/3, with full frame that would almost be impossible as the razorthin dof would be unmanagable. That means...

Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings

Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings

That rumored panasonic fullframe camera will most likely have a canon mount so get ready to buy a all new lensset if you heavilty invested in native glass like me. :)

Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings

BM makes more weird design decissions, like having a record button on the front of the camera and a red light so you know you are recording youself :)

Re: Gradual changes to my wedding over the years

Shutterspeed or iso have no effect on a “blurred”background but only your f-stop does, so if you set it at F1.8 the shallow dof will be exactly the same if you use a high shutter or a nd filter. I...

Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings

That still remains to be seen but you might be right, from what I have seen the new screen is much brighter, the old one was unusable in sunlight and I had to use a loupe.

Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings

On my pocketcam I was able to record raw onto plain sandisk extreme pro cards that had around 90mbs write.read speed. I guess it should be able to do the same on the new version?

Re: 4K BM “pocket” camera for weddings
