Re: Widescreen 16:9 or 4:3 with letterboxing for your DVDS?

I think many of the grandmas have 16:9 now. Mine have for years. Maybe a few great grandmas don't. Since that is all that is sold, and that is how the news is broadcast now, even if they do not own a...

Re: Idea for speech recording

Roger, I just noticed your location. I spent a semester in Cambridge as a part of an exchange program with my university. I loved it!! So beautiful there. I am jealous of the events you must get to...

Re: Economical On-Camera Shotgun for Interviews

Seems like a good setup. I might have to add that to my shopping list. Probably take me a couple more weddings before I can pick it up. The 58 was already on there. I have used them before and they...

Re: Economical On-Camera Shotgun for Interviews

Steve, what model do you use? I found the SKP 100 G3 online that looks right for that.

Re: Idea for speech recording

I have stayed away from the Sony 312 due to the mp3 only format. However, this thread is making me reconsider. The price is right for sure. The dimensions show it nice and small (1.5" x 4.5" x...

Re: What the Pros do...before...

Another informative post Adrian. Thank you for the details. Impressive how clear your mind works that late at night (or should I say "early in the morning"). I think this thread is really going to...

Re: A Canon T3i Wedding Film (my first)

The film was a lot of fun. There were some good shots. I think your next step should be capturing better audio. Nice logo at the end!

Re: What the Pros do...before...

Your linked list was great, but I can see why you do not give to the client. Answering the questions during a phone call wouldn't be bad, but seeing the whole list could feel overwhelming. Nice to...

Re: What the Pros do...before...

Thanks! There is some great information here. I am feeling good about the days before. I would still like to hear more about the morning of the shoot. Once you arrive, what checklist (physical or...

Re: Economical On-Camera Shotgun for Interviews

With a couple recommendations, good reviews, shorter length, and lower price point, the AT875r is sounding pretty good. (Sorry for the pun)

Re: Economical On-Camera Shotgun for Interviews

I learn quick. I can tell by the hesitance to recommend a shotgun mic for this application that you really don't like on camera mics. Point taken. I will normally try to setup a stationary camera...

Re: Economical On-Camera Shotgun for Interviews

Sorry. I realize the word "interview" in the title is a bit misleading to what I need. I will not be interviewing them. They are just saying quick "I love you two" and "Congrats" and "Treat her...

Re: Economical On-Camera Shotgun for Interviews

I do believe you. I realize the closer the mic to the talent's mouth...etc. It is just a tough situation for a handheld. I will be walking around a reception hall (without an assistant) giving guests...

Re: Let’s talk about the Glass!

I would really like to use my Nikon glass on my vg30. I have a few FX lenses, both prime and zoom. Will I need a "smart adaptor" to be able to control aperture? Any recomendations?

Re: DVD Interactive Slide Show in CS5

In PPro you could make the 4 videos with the 250 photos each into one big video. Set the time of each still to clients preference. Set it up with no transitions like requested and put an Encore...

Re: What export settings will keep text crisp?

Ann, I would prefer to use DL disks for anything 2+ hours, but for this project I am delivering one master DVD and they are making copies. Their duplicator can only handle standard DVDs. No DL.

What export settings will keep text crisp?

I have filmed a musical in 1080p30 and have it in a sequence with the same settings. The customer wants it scaled down to DVD (single layer only). I tried knowing there would be a loss in quality. ...

Re: 29.97p vs 30p

So there is a difference...but if I have a Sony camera advertising 30p and a Canon spec saying 29.97, should I be concerned if using them together?

Re: External Drive Recommendation: SSD/HDD/Thunderbolt/FireWire

Thanks Kevin. Do you keep your raw media files on the SSD with the project files (not sure if you meant all project files or specifically the PPro project file), or are they with the Render drive?
