bump down to draft quality and if that doesn't help spend 4 hours de-fragging your system. If it still doesn't work, then chances are you system isn't going to be able to preview it.

That is part of your problem. Change you preview setting to "preview" instead of full. Or buy new hardware. Unfortunately that seems to be the only options.

i usually just see capture date. But I rarely use timecode to sync anything. That is what a flash or loud noise are for. Seems easy for me at least.
