Re: Another GH2

I just bought a second GH2 from fellow forum member, Alan Ortiz. I had been shooting live events with a Canon XHA1 getting the wide angle. Color matching in post was a pain, not to mention the...

Premiere Crashed...where are my sequences?

I'm using CS5. My program crashed. I had about 10 different sequences. I reopened the file and now I only have one sequence and the rest are just tabs that say, "Timeline: (no sequences)". None...

Re: "Love Room" - Argentinian music video shot on the GH2

The slowdown is done by recording a new audio track at a much faster rate, syncing your playing/singing/motions to it, then slowing the video back down to match the original tempo of the track. That...

Re: Internal reflections when using old manual lenses & adapters

Hey, Ben, thanks. My reel was mostly shot on the GH2 with a few shots on a Canon XHA1.

Re: Sell my GH2 for 5D mkiii or change lenses or what?

Thanks for the shots, Jeff.

This is a live event I shot in 24p on a stationary XHA1 in the back, and a GH2 with the Canon FDn 50mm f/1.4 on my Jag35 shoulder rig: Todd Bogue - Live @ The Improv...

Re: Sell my GH2 for 5D mkiii or change lenses or what?

Good points, Kevin. My rig is definitely not center balanced over the shoulder. I'm not sure how that's even possible when you throw a monitor, Zoom, mics, lights, etc. onto the end of the thing. ...

Re: Canon 50 mm f1.2 lens

I have that problem with my adapter ring, too. It doesn't click, though, it's smooth, it just has more travel past the fully open spot.

Re: Sell my GH2 for 5D mkiii or change lenses or what?

Jeff, do you use the 45mm handheld when shooting video? That's my big concern is that it's not stable enough handheld. The big tradeoff is if I go with the Lumix 45, which has IS, I lose the lower...

Re: Sell my GH2 for 5D mkiii or change lenses or what?

Jeff, for weddings don't you think zoom lenses are the way to go? Changing primes constantly must be a pain.

Re: Sell my GH2 for 5D mkiii or change lenses or what?

As I said, the pancake lenses won't allow me to use my follow focus because the focus ring is too close to the camera, AND the focus by wire isn't consistent.

Re: Sell my GH2 for 5D mkiii or change lenses or what?

Jeff, as I mentioned the 45mm is useless because it doesn't have IS. I don't need IS for photo taking. I don't know why you said that. You just need to up the shutter a bit and you're fine, unless...

Sell my GH2 for 5D mkiii or change lenses or what?

Hey, I've been using the GH2 since it was released. The lenses I have are the Lumix 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6, Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95, Canon FDn 50mm f/1.4, and Canon FDn 100mm f/2.8.

My big problem is...

Re: HELP THE NEWBIES THREAD.....please.

Jeff, one frustrating thing about shooting stills in M is that if you take the shutter speed past 1/1200 or so, there's no resultant effect in the evf/lcd. The picture remains constant even though...

Re: HELP THE NEWBIES THREAD.....please.

Gotcha, Nigel. Not to be a pain, but I prefer the ungraded version. This one is over saturated, and the red channel is overrepresented. Just my opinion, though.

Re: HELP THE NEWBIES THREAD.....please.

Nigel, not bad. A few of the shots could have used some color correction, however, like the one right after they kiss where you're filming upwards towards the sky as they're walking by. There's a...

Re: HELP THE NEWBIES THREAD.....please.

The XHA1 and GH2 match up nicely in any mode. I filmed a club's new years event last night in 30p on both cameras. Generally when I'm using both cams for weddings or other events I shoot 'em both...

Re: HELP THE NEWBIES THREAD.....please.

Harper, I totally get what you're saying, but you can't compare the 14mm to the 14-140mm. At the long range of that zoom your minimum aperture is f/5.6. Trying to compensate with ISO will be...

Re: HELP THE NEWBIES THREAD.....please.

re: f/2 vs f/2.5. Bump up your ISO one notch, problem solved. I don't have a link, but I looked up a review between the two lenses, and the 14mm came out ahead in a few categories. The 45mm is...
