30P gives a great look but is very problematic...
30P gives a great look but is very problematic when transferred to PAL and most TV shows now have some international outlet. If you have ever seen it, 30P to 50i or 25P looks pretty terrible.

Depends... are you editing in an uncompressed timeline? If you are editing DV in a DV timeline you are generally better off to get it as close to the final desired look as possible. DV falls apart...
