Re: Recording times on the Tascam DR40

Ok, so apparently what it's showing me on the display is what is potentially left in the "file" it's creating so 1 file vs the whole card which seems a snidge backwards. Is there a way to change that?

Re: Recording times on the Tascam DR40

So there's a setting that says "size" and the largest size is 2G. The bitrate is 44/16 wave btw.

Re: To Buy Kit or Body

Tom,
another factor in lenses beyond specs is usability. I have a 60d which I bought with the kit lens, and the lens was cheap and plastic feeling. I also had a hard time with the flimsy focus ring....

Re: Better lav than the Olympus ME-15? Or better recorder? Help! lol

Zhong, my first thought in listening to the last one you posted was that sounds like the H1 mics without a lav. I wonder if you have a bad connector or plug in power is not turned on or something. ...

Re: Better lav than the Olympus ME-15? Or better recorder? Help! lol

Greg,
I've done about 75 weddings with the giant squid/h1 combination without a bit of rehearsal. He is right though, a wedding rehearsal is not a full dress rehearsal. just nothing you can do...

Re: Lapel mics for Zoom H1

Guy, the Giant Squids are soldered on... so, I'd have to either get another mic or get the clips changed out..

Lapel mics for Zoom H1

Hello All,
for the last year or so, I've been using the H1 with Giant Squid lapels to great success. I, however, do not love the clip which is clumsy and does not fit well over a jacket lapel. I'm...

Re: C300 Demo: Sword by Félix Alcalá and Larry Carroll

Just goes to show that relatively pretty pictures don't make up for a weak story and cardboard acting. And why not do the swordfight in 60p at least instead of the weird strobing slomo. Sure the high...

Re: Rendering in Vegas Pro 11

I'm in the same boat. AMD video card, won't render Mp4. CPU only works fine. Is there a reason?

Re: 600d vs 60D low light Video

Tariq,
The only difference in low light with the 60D vs. 600 should be the intermediate ISOs will give you a cleaner picture. I can't imagine a situation where $221 will really break you, and I can...

Re: Reception Audio Help Please

Troy,
I would add that this year, I've started to plug a H4n into the DJs board or the band's board. It has ambient mics as well and I run both at the same time. I'm using DSLRs though, so I know my...

Re: HMC and TM900 comparison screen shot.

Ian I shot the 60D with the 70-200 so that is as wide of a shot as I get. The left shot is the Tm900 the right is the HMC-150. If I had zoomed on either and been forced to stop down, the difference...

Re: HMC and TM900 comparison screen shot.

Yep. :) Good that people can have opinions. I'm probably getting rid of both of these cameras. I've just got to find something to fill the void.

Re: HMC and TM900 comparison screen shot.

Sure. Firstly with the whole "everything is in focus" thing. :) and honestly both video cameras have a videoish look that the DSLRs don't have in my opinion. I find that even when I'm shooting in...
