It is front heavy...but the weight is taken by the support rod and belt (as you can see in the pics). It's evenly balanced through the rod so there's minimal strain on my arms (I can balance it with a finger under each handle). I shot for 45 mins comfortably - but I imagine my back would complain eventually.

I'm curious whether there are other rigs out there that are more suited to the job. But even if that were the case I doubt they'd match the flexibility of the MR...and certainly not at that price.

Yes, The new DvRigPro HD is designed for both standard camera setup on the front bar or a 35mm setup on the side bar over the shoulder.

I'm very curious as to where you ended up. I have the exact same situation (except with a Canon A1). I have invested in a Brevis system and a Merlin, but am curious as to which way is the best to go in the event of needing to go handheld. Did you get an answer & go in any particular direction?
