grateful for any feedback on music video

This was shot on my Canon XH-A1 and edited in final cut pro. Graded in Colour. I'd really value any comments or suggestions that I can take forward onto the next project.

YouTube - Greg McDonald Liberty Waltz

Many thanks,
Henry

definately looks great and professional. Well edited as well.

I have my preferences as any other and of course these are just my thoughts.

I'm not sure the relevance between the song, the footage you shot, and the nazi footage. I don't find they fit well together. Maybe it's somewhere in the lyrics but visually it seems awkward.

secondly the girl dancing looks very saturated and beautiful. while the man looks very unsaturated and dull. Not sure if this was an artistic decision, but again looks a tad visually awkward.

of course this is all just my personal preference or opinions. I'm sure anyone else thinks it's perfect. Just something to think about.

First, I have never made a music video, so I can only comment from point of view of someone who views music videos.

Like Raul, I think there was too much contrast between the three different film types in the video. I think the music and lyrics are great, as is the imagery, but the imagery drew me away from they actual song and story it was presenting. I think that was primarily due to the dancer coming on screen in such bright and vivid color... you lose the flow of the song as a result.

Raul and Chris, thank you both so much for taking the time to comment and for your kind words.

The intention with the video was to reflect the lyric of the song semi-abstractly - The song is based on a letter written by a famous member of the Maquis to his wife as he waited to be executed, hence the WW2 footage of the Resistance' activities in Paris and the idea of her waltzing alone - but maybe we went a bit too far and lost sight of the context at times.
