This is something we shot and edited in about 4 or 5 hours one boring summer day. Check it out, and give me a ring if any of you guys are interested in our security service ;D.

I like the idea. Would have liked to see some more violence though. You can never have enough violence... people eat it up. :)

Anyway there seems to be a lot of headroom on both the top and bottom of the screen that could be done away with. Letterboxing it might have helped. Check out this hack job I did really quick to give you an idea:

What I did was pan the original image down a bit and then letterbox it. Composition and framing are really important when you want to direct the viewer's attention to something. I found myself looking at the street, mostly. Live and learn! :)

Yeah, I liked the idea too, it was catchy and funny, more voilence would be good, heh.

Was it really shot on a XL1 though? Don't take this the wrong way, but it looks pretty bad if it was. The whole car was pretty much blown out, the sky was unusually dark, and it was pretty noisey, it wasn't the compression either. :D

For future use, you should of either:

1. Had a different (darker) color car.

2. Took the exposure down a bit.

3. Found a different location/shot it when the light source (sun) was in a better position, such as early morning or late evening.

nope, it was shot with a sony dcr110 handheld dv cam on a mini tripod. i was pretty pleased that it came out only as bad as it did :D

yeah, i see the exposure probs the more that i watch it as well. mental note duely taken :|

That's great! It's wonderfully simple and pretty damn funny too. It has all the right ingredients to be a real commercial.

Great concept. Do agree with Alex on the exposure/quality issues. Keep up the good work.

I was wondering if people who download this on a broadband (anything better than dialup, actually) could, in addition to whatever they think about the Quicktime file, tell me what kind of average speeds they were getting for the download and if that comes close to your top-rated speed. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

105kb/sec on a DSL. Got it in less than five minutes. My bandwidth really fluctuates so I can't tell if that is good or not.

Haha that was funny.

Mine spiked at 120k/sec at the start, then slowly went down to around 70-90.

I like the opening shot, very nice!

Is the flickering in the prison scene editing or was it flickering light? It creates an interesting effect but it's tad overdone IMO.

I love that one shot in the bathroom when he's looking in the mirror and those two guys start fighting. Good eye!

There's a humming in the court scenes, was that an air conditioner or something?

Thanks :) With the AG-DVX100, it's easy to pull a focus changing shot because it is numerised. You look at your point A and memorize the number then look at point B and memorize it's number... then all you have to do is change from one number to the other.

Unfortunatly, we borrowed the city court for one after noon and we weren't well enough equipped for the audio. You've guessed right, the humming is the air conditioner.

I'm glad that you took the time to watch it and enjoyed it! Although the quality of the video on a tv screen is a thousand times better, the story and some shots can be enjoyed on the internet :)
