Horror short shot with Z1 at DVinfo.net

Visualy, I thought it looked very nice (but it's hard to tell in such a small window). Did you use any on camera filters? What did you do on post? As for the story...uh...I would not hire this actress based on her acting here. In the begining it looks like an erotic film. If the purpose of the film is to display her skills as an actress you should have opted for a classic monologue or an intense dramatic dialog. I'm sorry if I'm being too honest here.

I couldn't watch the clip in either Firefox or Opera. The sound played, but the image stayed as the beige background.

Marcus, do you have Flash 8 installed?

Rafael: thanks for the feedback. I had not any say in the material, sorry :) Apparently, this is an actual excerpt from the script of the movie the actress is to apply for. Camera processing: no optical filters, but I of course used a 35mm adapter - Letus35A with 50mm, 35mm, and 24mm SLR lenses on the front. Bathroom and bedroom scenes were also color graded slightly in post.

This was okay. didnt seem like a horror flick to me. The beginning was a lil chessey could have writting this better. quality was great and editing was good also. just work on selecting good actors and do better with the script writting and you will be okay - pz

To be honest, I think this production could have been a lot better. I really hate posting comments when I don't have anything positive to say, but I think you could do better with a little work.

Something about the shots--they felt home video'ish to me. Maybe the shots were too wide for their own good? Or it could have just been the composition itself. I'm not really sure, but whatever it was, it bothered me. I also noticed in a couple shots, the camera shakes just a bit, and its kind of distracting, and that you cut in shots that aren't really necessary, that are quite distracting as well. Maybe it's just the script--the scene could be too long for the amount of content in the script--maybe cut down the scene's length a bit?

I won't go into much detail about the acting, because personally, I don't know much about it . . . Anyway, I probably would not cast her in a film based on this production. She seemed very artificial. Again, it could have been the script, I don't know. I'd personally be embarrassed if I were her.

Also, on a side note, part of the home video feel came from the sound. Seems like you used the recorded sound from the camera. It's all good for a project like this (just an audition tape afterall), but it would have been better if you manufactured some of the sound in post production. I can't remember exactly, but I think I may have even heard a radio or tv playing in the background? I'll have to go back and check.

Anyway, good luck with your future endeavors.

Script was not mine, I just used what the actress wanted for her reel.

I directed, and operated the camera.

We were also lucky to have an excellent DP Skip Roessel.
