My little short
Not a movie, but just something fun i made yesterday when I was bored. It's an old tale with a new twist:

LOL! That was actually pretty funny. You sound a bit like Jim from The Office.
Nice work... |

Thank you. I've never seen The Office, but I'll check it out.

Without giving much away, or after a few days pass... maybe you can tell me how you created the special effect.
Thanks, Mike |

Yeah, not too hard or complex ... I just wanted to see if I could do it.

I used After Effects to do it, but I wonder if it can be done in FCP. I think it could, but it would take a lot more work.

Don't have/know AE.
Could have done it in FCP. Would have done it in Shake. Gunleik

I need to learn shake. It seems like a cool program, but I'm just like "?" whenever I see it. Then again, that's the emotion I feel when I open anything for the first time. I've played around a little, but not much.

Nice job!
The paint on the frame toolset was created for just this reason! Assuming you have a composition of just the background to erase to ... or a motion mask ... Anyway, I started watching your "short" with an eye for technical merit since you called your experiment a "short" Since it's just an interesting use of AE, I won't go into a long diatribe about lazy indie producers who use auto iris ... Keep the cool stuff coming ... and the way you acted out the hand on the hip, been there done that expression during the oozing 'o cola was fantastic! You have a natural talent for reality tee vee! |

I guess I should have called it a "clip." I never really paid attention to names before. C'est la vie. Much thanks on the thumbs up. |
