Douglas!
Great first name by the way! :) Lorinda is always so nice she can't criticize, me on the other hand... Not a criticism but a little critic. The video was very informative and entertaining! It actually kept my interest. The ending VFX were good could have been better if this were a big budget film production! The end left me a little hanging, maybe a "thank you for watching" or ending graphic would be a good way to finish your story. But other than that I liked it very much! Great job. |

Douglas, thank you for directing me to your gallery. I’ve watched and been thoroughly fascinated by three of the videos so far, and I plan to spend a lot of time on your site until I’ve seen them all. Consider me a fan! |

Thanks for your comments. Yes! I was in 2 minds about the ending. Maybe my Monty Python youth surfaced! However I have actually made a 2nd version without the explosions. I am just waiting to see what the reaction is going to be over the next week or so before deciding which version I will leave on the site. Regards, Douglas |
New Music Video!!!

That was fantastic work. Would you mind saying which camera and equip you used in production?
|
Rikki, thank you!
I've shot the commercial with Canon H1 with my CF profile, PS technik mini35 adapter, the lenses were Nikkor 35mm 1.4 50mm 1.2 Zeiss 100mm F2 macro and Elite 75mm 1.9 Cheers! |
I thought the video was ok, but the music was annoying. That trumpet sound was like a whining insect, and the dynamics of the loop are noticeably different... the volume of the first beat is significantly louder in a distracting way.
Disclaimer: just my opinion of course. |
That was cool.
Nice performances and you caught them nicely in a way that reflects a night out getting hammered watching some 'unknowns' perform in a dark corner of a dodgy bar. My kind of night out. |

It appeared you are trying to tell a story through the music, I also found the audio loop difficult to listen to, it made the entire clip hard to follow. In my amateur opinion, the visual half of your video exceeded the quality of your audio half.
The audio is an integral part of a music video. I listen to rap music, it is not the style I dislike, it is the poor mix and repetitious background loop |
Hmmm...I rendered the audio at the best quality I can. Youtube really gets to me that way, there is no way to make it perfect.
Thanks |
If I Lay here
My new short features shot on location 19th April in St Johns Wood London - Features a talented London drama student acting to the music of Snow Patrol's - Chasing Cars
it can be found on my website www.londonmarkfilms.co.uk under the films section. |
Nice one Mark, and it's all in the lighting, the lighting, the lighting. So many people forget that.
It's just a shame the songwriter doesn't know that the past tense of lie is lay. tom. |
In response to some of the feedback I have received in the past 2 days I have tweaked and adjusted certain parts of the video and have now uploaded a newer version.
Same url as mentioned in the first post in this thread. Regards, Douglas |
