AX100 HD vs 4K sensitivity
Does the AX100 loose low light sensitivity when switched to 4K? I am hearing of other brand cameras getting darker in 4K mode, and wanted to know before I plunk down $$$$ for the X70 4K upgrade!

Re: AX100 HD vs 4K sensitivity
No. The sensitivity is the same, whether shooting HD or UHD.
Actually it's possible to get better low-light in 4K mode if you are delivering in HD/SD quality by shooting a little extra wide to get the lens to open up a bit more, then crop in with your editor to desired framing. That's only if the extra light is really necessary. The AX100 does pretty good in low-light situations. And now with 100Mbps in 4K, adjustments in my editor look better also; such as using Neat Video or adding some brightening. Mark |

Re: AX100 HD vs 4K sensitivity
Heh, thanks. I use the 2x digital extender trick at times to keep the iris open wider at night. My delivery to air format is 720p60, so I can get away with it. :)
