A7SII Audio levels with multi-interface shoe

Just fitted my Radio mic (UWP-D) via the multi-interface shoe. All works fine except the audio record level control is greyed out! So now the only level control is on the receiver. Not pleased.

Chris, I was surprised by this as well. I should have returned the thing as I never use it. There are also tests online that show the audio quality is not as good possibly due to the way the auto levels work. Hopefully Sony will address this in firmware.

Mark, I landed up shooting with a gimbal on the A7 & recording audio on my FS7!! What a ridiculous situation...

Have you tried running the mini jack cable from your Sony Wireless to the audio input on the camera? I've done that with good success and you get manual audio control.

Yes I have, & it works as it should with manual control of levels etc. But when using my gimbal, it would be far more elegant to use the hot shoe & not have another cable interfering with the balance. I've been using the output level control on the Rx to set record levels, when using the hot shoe & it works well enough.

Are you guys talking about using your mics with the Sony XLR-K2M XLR Adapter in the shoe?

No. Talking about SMAS-P3 & it's 2 channel cousin.

the studio 1 xlr pro adapter is great. mounts on the bottom of the camera and has the standard tripod mounting screw.
quality is great, 2 channels with separate volume knobs and u can do stereo or mono.
