Just curious Nate, how do you come up with 160? Double that is 320 and when added to 720, it's 1040. I'm not saying you're wrong, just that I don't follow how you got there.

When I tried using 720 in MPEG Streamclip, it always looked squished. That's why I ended up using 854x480 then lopping off the sides to leave a 720x480 frame.

Trial and error. I had to do a bunch of short tests to arrive at those numbers, and I have no idea what they're based on. I did it some time ago last year.

I guess all I can say is that the two programs are going about the process differently internally.
