Extra playback cables for A1u
I wanted another component cable (preferably with L/R audio) so I didn't have to keep reaching behind my expensive tv. does anyone know if this cable Sony VMC-30FC will work with the HVR-A1U?
Or am I obliged to duplicate the existing cables - which I think are the: Vmc-30vc (component) and vmc-30fs (s-video/LR/composite) cabbles? Incidentally I found this interesting link. Appears you can lookup all the "guts" of the camcorder as well as replacement remote, etc. https://servicesplus.us.sony.biz/Par...spx?ArrayVal=0 |

James -
I took a look at the repair manual (thanks to the guy who put that up here at one time!), and it looks to me like you need BOTH cables. My SR11 came with an "all in one" with both component and audio, so it looks like SONY "got smart" and used the extra pins on the li'l connector. BUT they didn't have that figured out when they made the A1U by the looks of the schematics... no audio connections to that jack, so you have to use the composite cable for the L/R audio... Sorry for the bad news, but at least you've an answer! |
