A1U zoom rocker on the fritz

Anyone had/having trouble with the zoom rocker on thier A1U? The wide side on mine is extremely touchy now. It has to be in a certian position, and ONLY that position before it moves at full speed. I no longer have variable speed wide zoom which really blows.

The LCD zoom control still works, but of course it is only a one speed deal.

What happens when you plug in a LANC remote zoom controller? Same problem?

Yes, I am having the same problem with my A1. LANC and LCD zoom controls still work fine.

Hi, Jason . . .

I have the consumer version of the A1 (HC1). I have three HC1's -- two of them had to be repaired because of the "sticky" zoom rocker. It has been a known issue, I believe, with these units. Once serviced by Sony, my cameras have been great.

Good luck . . .

Having it serviced is not what I really want to do, because I expect that it will cost upwards of $400-500.
