HDR-HC1 Tomorrow!

As I'm in Singapore on the HDV Solutions Tour for VASST, I'll have my HC1E tomorrow. Looking forward to having it alongside the Z1. I'll post footage by week's end. Kaku's stuff is very helpful, but looking forward to trying this in a number of settings, including shooting a concert on the water. What I've seen, I'm impressed with.

Well Spot? I can't wait to get your impressions on this camera? Any luck?

I'm impressed thus far, but have had no time to capture and edit, and see what's REALLY going on with the cam. I'm in Asia on an HDV tour, and they've given me a new laptop to work with (loaner) that takes up a lot of my free evening time. I hope to capture some media tonight (your tomorrow morning)

HC1 - Japanese version in hand

I'm on a business trip in Okinawa, and picked up an HC1 two days ago. Still learning the menus since I only read English. Pretty impressive cam. I don't have a fast Internet connection here, but when I get back to the states I will be able to post some M2T clips, and soon a Japanese to English "cheat sheet" covering the menus.

Overview:

Small size is amazing
Low light performance is disappointing
Focus is tempermental, especially in low-light
Resolution is excellent

This is going to be one fun cam.

Lorin, if you need some extra space for hosting clips, just let me know... plenty of room here. Glad to hear you're enjoying the camera,
