I think I figured it out...

It's really quite late, i should be in bed, but FCP is too addicting.
I think i figured out a way to get a better 24p look out of my HC1.
I shot in 60i with no special things going on, captured in 1080i60. Brought my clips into a 1080i50 HDV sequence. Then outputed using the DV NTSC 48Khz - 24 setting which could easily be the HDV or DVCPRO HD 1080i60 preset changed to have a 24 frame base. I'll shoot some footage later on to test this out.

Do you mean the 24P setting?

Do believe that automatically deinterlaces the 50i sequence? And did you use the 16:9? What about syncing audio?
