Two quick questions about filters

First question - Has anyone tried shooting with a red enhancing filter on to maybe try to correct some of the red problem we have on the hc1?

Second question - when using a filter like a red enhancing filter, do you white balance and then put the filter on or do you white balance through the filter?

Got to WB through the filter, other wise your colours are going to be way off. But no, I have not tried one.
