HDR-HC3 Discontinued?

Has HDR-HC3 been discontinued? Sony USA web site does not list it any more.

I noticed that, too. Perhaps it's the same as the HC1--they had a pre-determined number of units made and sold, and then introduced the next generation, which was the HC3.

This is theorizing, but I wonder if the AVC HD cameras from Sony are the "next gen" consumer HD camcorders for Sony consumer (smaller units).

imo that would make perfect sense from a marketing standpoint, avchd is not as well supported by the nle's in addition to the fact that it degrades much faster then hdv upon editing.

I can see the ad now 'for more professional use and better image retention after multple generation edits, purchase a sony hvr professional hdv camera!'

Though I wonder if we'll see a new HC_ next week at CES.
