fx7 down convert
fx7 only down converts dv wide ... is there any other option out there to down convert to edge crop? ...

With the FX7 I think your only option is doing it in your NLE. The Z1, V1 and HD1000 all let you choose Edge Crop, Squeeze or Letterbox, but not the FX1 or 7 or any of the HCs.
