I just spoke to a beachtek rep over the phone and he mentioned that the Rode ntg-2 is far more superior to the above azden mic.

Any feedback on azden on fx1?

Had that mike for several years (still do). Good for outdoor work but peripheal rejection i felt was poor as soon as there were walls around to reflect sound. Now using Rode Video mike instead - much nicer timber to the sound plus better rejection.
