transferring SD from old tapes to a pc using a z1

the old tapes are from a 90's sony dcr-pc7e. one is a TDK and the other a fuji.
is it a bad idea to play these old tapes in a z1 at all?

Hi Ted..........

I'm not familiar with either of the machines you mentioned but, if the tapes are physically compatible, then go for it.

You may want to run a cleaning tape through the playing cam before and after, just in case.
