FX1 finally seems to be discontinued

Well, at least according to the B&H Photo website: Sony | HDR-FX1 HDV 1080i Camcorder | HDRFX1 | B&H Photo Video

strangely they still deliver in PAL, and no indication it is discontinued in this format.

This camera still does a pretty nice job, even against the new camera if care is taken.

Please do! I can't afford the new Sony models so am buying the FX1e as a second user. My hunch is that there will be a few of us using these for several years to come!

Yeah the FX1 and Z1 are a gem. I upgraded to an EX1 and sometimes I do wish I was holding the Z1. The roller shutter thingy is a killer for weddings and fashion shows!

If FX1 production really has come to an end (it's been announced fairly regularly every year or so) it'll have run what - 4 years? That's pretty darn good in this day and age - better than the PD/VX, yes?
