DV settings NG for FCP?

I shot in DVcam
rec format =DV
record mode =DVCAM
DV Wide Rec = ON Problem what does this effect the import into? (this probably was a mistake but I thought for the internet it would be good to be widescreen)
All I want to do is import the video and then upload to youtube.

When I import/capture into
FCP 5,there is confusion as to anamorphic settings. I cannot figure out how to import properly so I end up with 4:3 without seeing off sides.

I hooked up to my 4:3 tv and video looked fine,unsquished and without space on side

however
in IDVD, footage looks squeezed
in IMOVIE HD looks unsqueezed but I have room on either side of frame seeing the sides.
Component= 1080i/480i
Down Convert=letter box (could be squeeze or edge crop)

Then theres the issue of compression.
Any thoughts??
