Recommendations for software

I was wondering whether anyone knew of any freeware that I could use to extract my recorded film from my FX1 to my computer. Doesn't need to have the ability to edit the footage at this time.

HDV Split 0.79

Use HDV Split version 0.79 (latest version compatible with Vista)

Connect your camera via firewire, turn it on then launch HDV Split. Like the name says, it splits each scene into its own clip making it easier to edit, trim etc later.

Your Mac should have come with iMovie, which does a fine job of capturing.
