:) I like.

Hi Christopher,
What did you do to get the vignette look in most of the shots? Was that in-camera or done in post? Thanks, great looking footage by the way. J |
Beautiful work! Catchy, toe-tappin' tune to boot. Nice rhythmic editing that goes well with the music. Esp. like the shots of the grinning bus driver. Definitely ups the humor of the piece.
Seriously, beautiful footage with a cam that's supposed to be for "prosumers". :-) Truly shows that it's the talent behind the camera with the right tools in hand and not just the camera itself. Thanks for sharing! |

making link clickable to save target as... -->>> Can I get a better quality version? Where? From what I see I can mostly judge framing and editing, but the HDV quality seems lost in the very low resolution version. I have tried with Media Player and Quicktime and it looks the same, and it's set for high resolution. Carlos |
Higher rez would be great, but I want to know where I can get the CD?

As for myself, I'd like to see some production stills showing the FX1 / Mini35 setup on location.
|
I am now questioning if this is even the FX1.
On 3 different boards people are asking all kindsa questions...mainly the same ones. Not one question has been answered. Just posted the video, and left.... I'm not as excited as I was anynmore. As of now, for all I know, this was shot on 35mm or HDCAM. - Shannon W. Rawls |

Yes, i was absolutely amazed at the beggining with this piece of art, but as nobody answered, im getting to the point of doubting its veracity.
If this footage is real, after post and everything, it means prosumers can get to the point of enjoy explaining what people is waching is in fact digital, and smile with their open mouths. But i think this is another thing (I really hope Christopher corrects me). How many of us were waching it over and over tip-tapping as the song played? and how many of us asked who were the players? New old kind of publicity method maybe, kind of mouth to mouth... But as im interested in getting the Z1 i will still be hoping its real thing, at least in my heart. Anyway, it is a very well done video with nice music. |
I think that one point is beeing overseen,
As someone else pointed out here before, this peice was filmed by a experienced DP. Most probably he could have gotten almost the same results from a XL2 or DVX100. The "resolution" factor is not the issue here. Colorcontrol, correct exposure and the right frameing are a much bigger issue. Most likely the peice was colorcorrected by a pro too. Also remember that he has equipment for over twice the price of the camera infront of his lens makeing this possible. I don't have any doubts about getting results like this with the FX1. /Andreas |
If you go to the main page of the website it says he is in buenos aires from 1.28 to 2.17
|
its legit.. he's using a mini35 image converter and probably using some lenses that cost 3 times as much as the camera.
|
Ok, lets say its legit. Iīm sorry i didnīt read about his trip. My apologizes. But itīs so well done!
Will it be 50i-60i? no doubt if they used so big bunch of equip they wouldnīt try the cineframe thing. Wich should be better to de-interlace, looking for quality results? No idea of wich editor and plug-ins used. My imagination is absolutely dry at the moment. Its the "not believe till you see it" problem. Sure itīs over the top machinery and a good pro team working around to make the FX1look so impressive. How can we get so far so quickly with technology? It looks like in a couple of years everything will be about the talent and knowledge of the people you are working with, and not about the latest techy thing (thatīs my hope). In fact, it looks like this now, but not as evident as the moment we will have true 24p HD(v) in hands. Then teams will forget about perfect film look and worry about other productions needs. I wish the best for the cameras to come. |
I'm pretty sure it's legitimate -- no real reason to doubt it -- besides, P+S Technik would know for sure, since they would keep a close eye on where their first units go, and to whom, for marketing purposes. That's why I was asking about some productions stills, there's bound to be some that were taken.
