Chrosziel MB for Z1

Hello,
Chrosziel have released their new Matte Box for the FX1/FZ1. Its called the 450-11. It seems to be a re-engineered version of the 411-53PK (which I had on my DVX100A).

The filter trays are side-loading due to the mic overhang clearance problem and has a box style very lightweight support.

The list price in Europe (I'm in the UK) is 1048 Euros which is about $1400 USD.

Regards,

Jonathan Lee (Very pleased FZ1 owner)

It does seem a little high. One retailer send me this list of [discounted] pricing;
We currently have some special prices on the Chrosziel accessories.

$1566.00 - Mattebox and rail system

$3188.50 - Mattebox and rail system with Follow Focus

$335.00 - Optional Side wings for Mattebox (if needed)

$320.00 - Remote Zoom control

$715.50 - Wide Angle .7 adapter (real one, not the consumer version sold elsewhere for less).

These prices are the introductory specials. The retail prices are higher.

Their pricing is nuts. $3189. Pleaseeee! The price of a FX1 for a matte box and follow focus. I don't think so...........

It's kinda like Rolls-Royce... you want that brand name on there, ya gotsta pay fer it.

I agree, it's a little high in price compared to what else is out there, but it's also top shelf gear.

I'm surprised how expensive it is in the USA compared to the UK and Europe; its usually quite the opposite.

The basic 450-hdv kit as I said retails for about $1400 USD in the UK. The follow-focus rig is roughly about $1065 USD. Thats only $2465 for the lot. You might consider buying it over here for once!

Gabor,
The basic 450-HDV kit is listed at 1048 Euros, by www.chrosziel.com in Germany. It is not on their website DV price list yet as it has not been updated yet. There is a pdf from Chrosziel, which I got from a UK dealer. Chrosziel might send it you if you e-mail them for it.

The follow-focus rig cost me £570 in the UK (about 830 Euros). We here also have to pay a 17.5% sales tax on top of this which foreign buyers do not.

Try Visual Impact in the UK at: www.visuals.co.uk. Ask them for a price and shipping.

Regards,
Jonathan

Jonathan,
I emailed Visual Impact and they send me the price list which is :

Chrosziel HDDV kit GBP 630.00 ($1175)
Chrosziel Follow focus GBP 600.00 ($1120)
Extra Gear ring for the HVR-Z1E GBP 58.00 ($108)

This is a huge difference than the price was given to me by 16x9inc here in the States.
Also they mentioned here Z1E and there is a Z1U...Any difference?

Gabor,
The "E" refers to Europe and a camera with a European warranty. "U" refers to the USA and North America (I assume).
Cameras are the same otherwise.
By the way, I quoted Euros as I assumed you were in Hungary.

Jonathan

Jonathan,
I know, I am confusing....Now I am in the States.
So if E or U doesnt matter than these prices are much better.
Thanks

E = UK = camera software setup for the UK (50i) out the box
